Sale of Springfield Hotel, Leixlip to Cliste Hospitality

One of Ireland’s largest hotel operators Cliste Hospitality in partnership with Warren Private are delighted to confirm the purchase of The Springfield Hotel Leixlip from the Hannigan family.

The late Paddy Hannigan & his wife Marie purchased The Springfield Hotel in 1973. The Hannigan family, Gerard, Deirdre & Thomas have continued to grow the business from a small 10 bedroom Hotel to what it is today in the proud tradition of hospitality for the last 49 years.

Cliste Hospitality operate eleven hotels throughout Ireland under “The iNua Collection” brand. Some of their other hotels include The Tullamore Court Hotel, Muckross Park Hotel & Spa in Killarney and The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel. The Directors of Cliste Hospitality Paul Fitzgerald and Sean O’Driscoll look forward to taking over The Springfield Hotel at the end of April.

Sean O’Driscoll commented “Cliste Hospitality are looking forward to becoming part of the community in Leixlip and continuing the proud legacy of the Hannigan family. He said that there is a very experienced long serving team at the hotel and that the Cliste Hospitality team are looking forward to working with them to continue to deliver great service to the many loyal customers of The Springfield Hotel”. All the existing employees will be continuing with the business.

Sean went on to say “Cliste Hospitality will take over the hotel at the end of April, but that it will be very much business as usual. All weddings and other events booked with the Hannigan family will be fully honoured including all gift vouchers. 

Cliste Hospitality are specialists in the wedding business, with their hotels hosting over 400 weddings last year”.

The Hannigan family have said they were delighted that the Springfield hotel has been purchased by experienced hoteliers who will continue their tradition of hospitality. They said that the family wanted to sincerely thank all their wonderful colleagues at The Springfield for their loyalty and service over many years. They also wished to thank their many loyal customers and friends for their support

Paul Fitzgerald, CEO of Cliste Hospitality said that Cliste hospitality are delighted to acquire their first hotel in County Kildare and that the group is pursuing further strategic investment opportunities to grow the hotel collection.

John Hughes of CBRE advised the vendors on the sale of the hotel. No sale price has been disclosed.
